The application window for pupillage commencing in September 2028 will open in January 2027.

Our pupillage recruitment process and remuneration package are designed to attract high-calibre candidates from a wide range of backgrounds. Kings Chambers is fully committed to the Bar Council’s Equality and Diversity Code and to selecting candidates on merit, irrespective of their personal circumstances.
Our pupillage package for those commencing pupillage in 2028 totals £75,000.
This comprises:
Up to £25,000 of the first six months’ award may be drawn down during the BPTC year, following receipt of a signed pupillage contract and the required accompanying paperwork.
We do not currently accept unfunded pupils.
We want our pupillage recruitment process to be accessible to candidates regardless of their financial circumstances.
Candidates experiencing financial hardship who require assistance with the cost of travelling to interview should contact Chambers. We will consider reimbursement of reasonable travel expenses on a case-by-case basis.

Our Pupils are not assessed in competition with one another but individually. Monthly progress meetings provide clear feedback throughout their pupillage. We have a high conversion and retention rate of pupils to tenants and all tenancy decisions are based on merit for each individual pupil.
