Chantelle is a dual‑qualified lawyer with an international career spanning South Africa and England & Wales. She was admitted as an attorney in South Africa before completing pupillage and being called to the Bar in 2013, where she established a successful practice as an advocate. In 2024, she qualified as a solicitor (England and Wales) and was subsequently called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2026.

Chantelle’s practice is rooted in general commercial law. She has experience in matters involving commercial contracts, shareholder and partnership disputes, professional negligence, insurance issues, property disputes and claims arising from the supply of goods and services.

Alongside her broader commercial practice, Chantelle maintains specialist expertise in construction and engineering disputes, particularly those involving major infrastructure projects, utilities, and energy. She regularly advises on contract interpretation, risk allocation, and claims management, and represents clients in adjudication, arbitration, and mediation.

Chantelle brings a meticulous, analytical approach to every instruction, coupled with strong advocacy skills and a pragmatic, solutions‑focused mindset. Her combination of commercial insight, technical understanding, and international experience makes her a trusted adviser in fast‑moving and high‑stakes disputes.

Outside of practice, Chantelle is an active sports enthusiast. She enjoys running and regularly takes part in events. She also plays netball and follows a wide range of sports, valuing the discipline, teamwork, and resilience they cultivate.

Expertise

Chantelle advises on all aspects of construction and engineering disputes, including delay and disruption, defects, payment issues, and professional negligence. She has extensive experience with NEC, JCT, FIDIC, and bespoke frameworks.

Commercial Litigation is the key component to Chantelle’s practice. She has extensive court experience both in England and Wales and South Africa representing clients in a broad range of commercial disputes including debt recovery claims, sale of goods and services cases, shareholder disputes and general contractual commercial matters.

Chantelle is developing a broad practice in insolvency matters, advising and representing clients across the full spectrum of personal and corporate insolvency issues. Her work includes assisting with statutory demands, bankruptcy and winding‑up proceedings, office‑holder applications, and matters arising from financial distress within commercial relationships.

Chantelle has represented various parties in arbitrations, mostly related to construction disputes. She has also sat as arbitrator and adjudicator.

She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and panel member of UK Adjudicators.
