Kings is pleased to announce that Piers Riley-Smith and Aisling Campbell are, respectively, the first recipients of The Dame Frances Patterson and Harold Halliday Pupillage Awards. 

Dame Frances was Head of Chambers at Kings between 2004 and 2009.  She was appointed a Law Commissioner in 2010 and to the High Court Bench in 2013. Dame Frances passed away in 2016 – aged 62 years.  Harold Halliday was a successful and busy junior practising in the field of personal injury.  He passed away in 2006 – aged 57years. 

Both Frances and Harold were well thought of and dedicated pupil supervisors who were committed to the development of young barristers through Pupillage and beyond.

Chief Clerk, Bill Brown, said:  “Kings is delighted to be honouring in this way, two former much loved and sadly missed members of chambers”.
