Jonathan joined Kings Chambers in 2012 on successful completion of pupillage. He acts and advises in cases spanning all the areas of law covered by the Chancery and Commercial team at Kings Chambers, but with particular focus on the areas of commercial litigation, insolvency, and property law. He enjoys working for a wide range of different clients, and aims to provide a practical and commercially-minded service that is responsive to their individual needs.

Expertise

Jonathan is regularly instructed in a wide range of commercial cases, with a busy practice in the County Court and High Court. He is experienced in contractual disputes, debt recovery, goods and services claims, and construction. A particular recent highlight was a Mercantile claim worth almost £300,000 centred on a number of ambiguities in a written agreement. The case produced two heavily-contested interim applications. Jonathan also acted recently in a trial for defective industrial machinery, with substantial expert evidence.

Jonathan regularly carries out work in corporate and individual insolvency proceedings of all kinds. He represents creditors, debtors and insolvency professionals, offering an understanding of the insolvency sector and the needs of those working in it. He recently represented a financial institution in a dispute worth over £1 million, arising in the course of winding up proceedings. Another recent highlight was fending off a bankruptcy in the County Court, and upholding the judgment on an appeal to the High Court.
