The Kings Chambers Court of Protection Property & Affairs team includes barristers at all levels of seniority. Our dedicated specialist team draws strength from both health and welfare and probate, trust and private client practitioners, giving us a unique expertise across a wide range of Property and Affairs matters. Our deep understanding of social care legislation, as well as the practicalities of catastrophic personal injury settlements (acting for deputies appointed to administer these on behalf of the claimant), places us in a strong position to offer an all-around service. Members of the team also have close links with the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP) and publish regularly on issues relating to Property and Affairs.
We act for deputies, the Public Guardian, private clients, the Official Solicitor, local authorities and family members at all levels in the Court of Protection. We give clear and prompt advice at an early stage, preventing unnecessary or wasteful proceedings later on.
The team have a national presence, working across the UK. We pride ourselves on excellent service and offer assistance on an urgent (and out-of-hours) basis where necessary. We provide regular training events through chambers or by way of bespoke in-house events.
