We were delighted to welcome guests to Middle Temple Hall for the inaugural Dame Frances Patterson Memorial Lecture on Tuesday 8th October 2019.

The Memorial Lecture, delivered by Baroness Hale of Richmond DBE PC – President of the Supreme Court, was an opportunity to honour the life and work of the late Mrs Justice Patterson, a former Head of Kings Chambers and beloved friend and colleague.

William Brown, Director of Clerking commented: “This was a most splendid and memorable evening celebrating and remembering Dame Frances and her outstanding contribution and dedication to her work.  We also remembered her as a much-loved colleague and friend.  Her legacy lives on”.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Lady Hale for her involvement and delivering a fitting tribute to Dame Frances and to our colleagues at 39 Essex Chambers who co-hosted the event.

A copy of Lady Hale’s speech, “Law & Politics: A Reply to Reith” is available here.
