The Kings Chambers Court of Protection team invites you to the first annual Property & Affairs Conference to be held in Leeds. This conference is vital for all solicitors or in-house lawyers who specialise in elderly law and property and affairs. The conference will provide indispensable information in relation to the powers of a deputy, its remuneration, private deprivation of liberty and how it affects a deputy and probate issues. District Judge Glentworth, a prominent nominated Court of Protection Judge who regularly presides over property and affairs, will provide the keynote talk. It is a must attend event, which will be followed by lunch and a networking event thereafter.

The Kings Property & Affairs Group (KPA)  regularly advise and represent parties in relation, among other things, to: applications for the appointment of deputies; disputes concerning the conduct of deputies, including application for their removal or for the provision of accounts; applications for statutory wills; applications authorising transactions proposed by a Deputy; applications authorising the bringing of defending of legal proceedings; applications for the approval of the settlement of property on behalf of a patient or for the variation of trusts or wills; issues arising in the provision of care home services, charging for community care and the availability of NHS continuing care; and the lawfulness of charging for top-ups in aftercare, and the availability for service charges in sheltered accommodation.
