The six of edition of Insolvency Legislation: Annotations and Commentary by Chambers’ insolvency specialists, Louis Doyle and Professor Andrew Keay, has been published by LexisNexis. The new edition includes a foreword by the Chancellor of the High Court, Sir Geoffrey Vos. Since publication of its first edition in 2005 the book has gone from strength to strength and is now used by all of the full-time Judges in the Chancery Division, the Bankruptcy Registrars and the Section 9 Chancery Judges in the regions. The new edition includes an extensive treatment of the Insolvency Rules 2016 which came into effect on 6 April 2017.
Louis Doyle’s recent cases include the successful claims in Safier v Wardell [2017] EWHC 20 (Ch); [2017] Bus LR 564 (SoS fees not payable in respect of third party funds on bankruptcy annulment, a case in which the Official Receiver’s appeal to the Court of Appeal has been discontinued) and the decision of the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Norris J, in McLean v Berry [2016] EWHC 2650 (Ch); [2017] 3 WLR 198 in which Louis appeared for Lady Lynne Morrison and which judgment adds significantly to the learning on subrogation and marshalling in the context of a dispute over security created under the Agricultural Charges Act 1928.
