Last week, after a six day hearing, the Bolton Coroner recorded a verdict of suicide in the inquest for David Edwards-Gill. This 16 year old rugby player and model with mental health problems died on the West Coast mainline at Wigan in November 2016. At the time he was under the care and supervision of both CAMHS and Wigan Council’s community support programme, called SHARE, whilst living at home.

The coroner found that David had not been failed by services, following thorough and proper probing and scrutiny by the coroner and the family’s counsel.

Simon Burrows acted for Wigan/SHARE instructed by Forbes Solicitors of Blackburn.
