An appeal proposal for up to 90 homes by Sharba Homes was called in (post hearing) by the Secretary of State. At the hearing Stratford upon Avon Council were represented by Gary Grant of Kings Chambers. The Secretary of State agreed with the Inspector‘s evaluation of harm to the landscape and development plan in line with that of the LPA. The Secretary of State also found the proposal to be out of kilter with the neighbourhood plan. The Inquiry heard some fascinating evidence on the setting of the Edgehill Battlefied but the case in the event did not turn on heritage issues.
