This week, Satinder Hunjan QC has successfully represented his client who underwent unnecessary brain surgery for a tumour at 3 years old, securing a settlement in excess of £26 million. As a result of the surgery the child, who is now an adult, has severe behavioural and related disturbance requiring very substantial and expert care for life. The award was structured by way of an adult-million pound lump sum and substantial periodical payments for life.
