Sam Karim QC is due to address the Law Works Student Pro Bono Conference on the 11th of November at the University of Manchester, School of Law. 

The LawWorks Student Pro Bono Conference is on 11th November at the University of Manchester, School of Law. The conference is free to attend for law students and law school staff. Lawyers interested in supporting student pro bono are also welcome to attend. 

This conference will showcase pro bono projects and charities, and provide an opportunity to debate the role of pro bono in access to justice and meet with leaders and practitioners in the pro bono field.

The keynote speaker will be Edgar Cahn, a pioneer in the clinical legal education movement and distinguished civil rights lawyer from the US. Edgar has five decades of achievements in supporting access to justice and is the inventor of Timebanks.

There will be plenary panel discussions on pro bono initiatives in Manchester and developments in clinical legal education, followed by workshops in the afternoon. Delegates will also have the chance to meet, debate and network with other students and law school representatives, and pro bono organisations. Joe Egan President of the Law Society will close the Conference.
