Kings Chambers is delighted to announce that, based on the recommendation of The Lord Chancellor, Ruth Stockley and Eleanor Temple are set to be appointed as King’s Counsel by His Majesty The King. They will officially take their oaths at a ceremony scheduled for March of this year.

About Ruth Stockley and Eleanor Temple

Ruth is a member of the Planning team and specialises in all aspects of town and country planning, infrastructure, environmental law, compulsory purchase, highways, road traffic regulation, village greens, and judicial review. She holds particular expertise in highway law and has served as an Editor of the Highway Law and Practice Encyclopaedia, making her widely recognised as one of the leading authorities on highways in the UK.

Eleanor’s practice primarily centres on commercial litigation for both domestic and international clients. Her focus areas include insolvency, company law (mainly shareholder disputes), partnership actions, banking and finance, guarantees, civil fraud, contract disputes, breach of trust and fiduciary duties, asset tracing claims, and directors’ disqualification. Additionally, she serves as the Chair of R3 for the Yorkshire Region, the Chair of the NECCBA, the Chair of the Yorkshire Pro Bono Committee, and regularly sits as a Recorder and Deputy District Judge on the North Eastern Circuit.
