Flagship Property Seminar - Unlocking Development Land


Kings Chambers' Property Team invites you to its half day conference on Unlocking Development Land.  It will address a range of issues, both legal and practical, from a variety of perspectives.  The talks seek to address certain key problems which frequently arise where land is to be developed, and to assess the differing options that are available for resolving them.  It will be of interest to all those involved in real estate work, from national developers to those advising in relation to smaller-scale domestic work, whilst the seminars on rights of way and the Property Chamber are of general interest.

Richard will talk about access to development land using private rights of way and over land subject to restrictive covenants.

09:50  Wilson Horne: Pitfalls in Development Agreements

Wilson's presentation will consider problems encountered in the enforcement of a wide range of development agreements.  He will review recent case law and will also seek to address potential solutions.

11:30  Dr Nathan Smith: What the First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) can do for you

A guide to the practice and procedure of the specialist jurisdiction of the Property Chamber.  Nathan will explain the advantages and limitations of the Property Chamber and why it can provide a useful and sometimes overlooked method of resolving property disputes involving registered land.

12:15  Geraint Wheatley: Vacant Posession

Utilising practical case studies, Geraint will consider what is required by the obligation to give vacant posession, and assess what options are available to a buyer in the event that it is not given.
