Court of Protection Health and Welfare Seminar: Social Media, Relationships & Section 49 Reports

In this seminar, Sam Karim QC will discuss recent developments in the law relating to internet and social media use, further to the recent Court of Appeal decision in B v A Local Authority [2019] EWCA Civ 913.

Joining Sam will be Eliza Sharron who will explore recent significant developments in the law regarding how capacity and best interests should be approached, in the overlapping areas of sexual relationships and contact.  The team is also pleased to introduce its newest member, Sophie Hurst, who will be examining the use of Section 49 reports in the context of objections from Mental Health Trusts to producing such reports for use in proceedings.
