Kings Chambers Host Mini Pupillage Fair

Kings Chambers was delighted to welcome students to our Manchester chambers this week for the annual Mini Pupillage Fair.  The three-day event was well received by our guests with a varied programme designed to give students a practical insight into life at the Bar.  The programme included a mix of court visits, advocacy exercises and time spent in chambers with sessions delivered by our barristers, clerks and current pupils providing a first hand account of what to expect as a Pupil and Junior Barrister.

Nigel Poole QC, Head of Chambers commented: “The Kings Chambers mini pupillage fair is a fantastic offering to those considering a career at the Bar.  It is a three-day event packed with presentations, advocacy exercises, court visits and chances to socialise with and ask questions of barristers across a wide range of specialist civil law practices.  I am very proud that Kings offers this opportunity.  It would not be possible without the hard work of many of the barristers, clerks and administrative staff in chambers.  This year’s participants have a very impressive array of achievements and talents.  We are delighted that they are considering joining the profession.  The regional civil law Bar has a bright future.”

We would also like to extend a special thank you to our guest speakers who joined us for the Fair — His Honour Judge Nigel Bird, former member of Kings Chambers and a Designated Civil Judge, Senior Circuit Judge at Manchester Civil and Family Justice Centre and Alex Aldridge, the Publisher and Founder of Legal Cheek, the UK’s leading news source for junior lawyers and law students.

Applications for 2020 Mini Pupillage will open in January 2020.
