Kings Chambers is looking for an individual to become a member of the Chambers’ Front of House team. The focus of this job is to ensure the smooth running and efficiency of Chambers reception through excellent customer service and organisational skills. We are looking for a personable and flexible individual to work 2 days per week (8.30am – 5pm) based in our Manchester Chambers. Working as part of a small team we will require this person to cover the holidays of their job share partner.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • To provide a helpful and efficient reception desk
  • Answering and transferring telephone calls via a PC based VoIP switchboard system and taking messages where appropriate;
  • Set up of conference calls and video conferencing using all available remote meeting platforms (MS Teams / Zoom etc)
  • To sign for and distribute briefs to Clerks
  • Meeting and greeting clients / visitors;
  • Organisation of daily conference facilities & supplies
  • Planning of daily conferences rooms through LEX diary system
  • Organising any conference catering / refreshments requirements
  • Liaison with maintenance & cleaning companies / callouts
  • Ad-hoc clerical duties

Skills/Qualifications Required:

  • Switchboard/Reception experience essential;
  • Proficient IT knowledge including use of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook;
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C minimum or equivalent)
  • Desired – to have worked previously in a professional services environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels and to create and maintain good working relationships.
  • Able to multi-task and work well under pressure
  • Capacity to thrive in a small team environment and is a team player who get on well with colleagues.
  • Willingness always to represent Chambers in the best possible light.

Days: Monday and Tuesday. Additional days to cover for holidays of job share partner. Salary dependent on experience.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Part-time hours: 15 per week
