Colin Bourne and Constanze Bell represented Kings Chambers at a Bar Council sixth form conference for 45 school students connected to the ‘Pathways’ programme in Leeds on Saturday.
Kings Chambers is keen to play its part in making young people aware of routes into the profession from all backgrounds.
The sixth form conference, organised jointly by the Bar Council, BPP Law School and Widening Participation at Leeds University, targeted students from schools and colleges in and around Yorkshire.
Marisa Dineen Training and Events Coordinator of the Bar Council commented: “We have had very positive feedback from the students. The students valued hearing from barristers about what practising at the bar is really like. Many commented that they have been inspired to pursue a career at the bar”.
Conference sessions included talks on: studying law at university; pathways into the profession and the working life of a barrister; current legal issues; and a question and answer session on issues in British, European and International Law.
Constanze also represented Kings Chambers at Manchester Co-operative Academy’s careers morning as part of the ‘Inspiring Futures’ programme.
