Calling All Aspiring Kings Pupils!
Recently named as one of the Top 10 chambers for training and quality of work in a survey of pupil barristers, Kings Chambers wants to maximise the entry opportunities for all aspiring barristers with something to offer. That’s why we run our Mini Pupillage Programme every year.
“We wanted to offer mini-pupillage in a more structured way than just summer holiday work-shadowing”, says Matthew Hall, the barrister co-ordinating the event. “Having 20 or so mini-pupils in for the 3-day event means that we can engage more, with talks and exercises”.
Attendees are not assessed as part of the Kings Chambers recruitment process and it is not mandatory to attend in order to apply for pupillage. “Obviously we have our eyes out for future stars”, says Matthew “but that is not the only aim. We want to showcase the different types of law we do here for those genuinely interested. The event is actually really enjoyable. That’s what my colleagues tell me and each year we get really great feedback from the candidates”.
