The Kirklees Local Plan was adopted on 27 February 2019. Vincent Fraser QC, Anthony Gill and Constanze Bell provided advice on legal aspects of the local plan statutory process and represented the Council at the Examination in Public.
The new Local Plan is now the statutory development plan for Kirklees and as such it governs development in the Kirklees area and the determination of planning applications in Kirklees.
The Kirklees Local Plan and its adoption have been a matter of interest in the local press (including in the Examiner) and in the specialist planning press (Planning Resource’s ‘Local Plan Watch’).
The Local Plan was adopted subject to modifications. More information about the Local Plan, its modifications and the Examination in Public can be found here and here.
