Sarah Clover Successful in Application for SEV licence for Premises in Reading

Sarah Clover, instructed by Lisa Sharkey of Poppleston Allen, has been successful in securing a Sexual Entertainment Venue (SEV) Licence for a venue in Reading. The Karaoke venue known as Kinky Koala on Friar Street will be changed to Black Diamond with a view to offering adult entertainment.

The well-publicised application was challenged by a local resident in respect of character of the relevant locality and the officer recommendation was to refuse the application based upon locality.  Officers at Thames Valley Police had some concerns however they did not lodge a formal objection instead giving suggestions as to how the premises could operate safely.

The licensing will allow the premises to operate 7 days per week from 9pm until 3pm.
