Vincent Fraser QC has successfully represented E.ON Climate & Renewables UK Development Ltd in obtaining consent under the Electricity Act 1989 and deemed planning permission from Scottish Ministers for Benbrack Wind Farm in Dumfries and Galloway. The wind farm comprises 18 turbines of up to 130 metres in height with a capacity of up to 59MW. The inquiry was primarily concerned with the landscape and visual impacts of the proposal upon the Merrick Wild Land Area and the Doon Valley Sensitive Landscape Character Area and the potential impact upon tourism, recreation and the local economy.
