British Irish Commercial Law Forum: 3 and 4 April 2014, Manchester
This year the Conference is in its third year and is a joint event between the British Irish Commercial Bar Association (www.bicba.com), the Northern Circuit Commercial Bar Association (www.nccba.org.uk) and the Law Society’s Commerce & Industry Group (www.cigroupnorthwest.co.uk). All speaking events are CPD accredited.
The Conference will begin at the Manchester Town Hall at 5pm on 3 April 2014 attended by Judges, Barristers, solicitors and business delegates from Ireland, N. Ireland, Scotland, England& Wales to hear a panel of Commercial Judges from the four jurisdictions. The keynote speaker is Mr Justice Kelly, Senior Judge of the Commercial Division of the High Court of Ireland – Alternative Dispute Resolution in Commercial Cases: the Judicial View . The Chairman is HHJ Judge David Waksman QC, specialist Mercantile Court Judge of England and Wales. The event will be followed by a drinks reception and dinner at this prestigious venue.
The following day a series of events culminate in a joint conference for in-house counsel and lawyers in independent practice at the prestigious Media City at 4pm. Speakers will address Effective Dispute Resolution across the jurisdictions – recent developments and where is it all going? This will cover changes and trends in litigation, arbitration and mediation throughout the four jurisdictions.
The Conference fee including seminar sessions on both days, visits, dinner and drinks at the Manchester Town Hall is £175/215 Euros for members of BICBA or NCCBA and £225/275 Euros for non-members (which will include one years membership of BICBA).
