Construction and commercial specialist Michael Stephens has been invited to deliver one of the two keynote speeches at the UAE FIDIC Conference to be held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Festival City on 24 and 25 November. The theme of the Conference is “Excellence in Managing Contracts through FIDIC”. Michael will speak in particular about management of arbitration procedures under the FIDIC suite of contracts.
Following this, Michael will give a significant public lecture at the British University in Dubai on 26 November. He has taken as his title “Ethics in International Arbitration – challenges for the Gulf region?” and he will address the issue of the need for a consistent approach to ethical behaviour in international arbitration and how practitioners in the region can benefit from such a stance. A substantial international audience is expected for the event.
