Kings Chambers is delighted to learn that Her Majesty the Queen has appointed Tom Gilbart to the position of Circuit Judge, with the intention that he will sit in Bolton.
Tom is the son of the late Sir Andrew Gilbart, the former Head of Chambers at Kings Chambers, the Recorder of Manchester and Justice of the High Court.
Head of Chambers, Paul G Tucker QC observed: “We are breaking with the tradition of the news section of Kings Chambers being reserved for news in respect of current and former members of chambers, by publicly congratulating Tom on his appointment to the Circuit Bench.
"Tom’s father was central to the success of Kings prior to his appointment to the bench, and as a child, Tom was a regular visitor when Kings were based at 40 King Street, including completing a mini-pupillage. I am certain that Andrew would have been exceptionally proud of Tom in all that he has achieved, and we, therefore, wish him the warmest possible congratulations upon his elevation."
