John Barrett has secured planning permission on appeal for up to 84 houses on a greenfield site at the attractive Warwickshire village of Bishops Itchington, Stratford on Avon District. The Local Planning Authority had resisted the appeal by Gladman Developments on the basis of alleged harm to the rare grassland ecology of the site and sustainability. Inspector Richard Schofield concluded:
“… the appeal proposal offers net biodiversity gains and would secure the creation and long term management of species rich grassland. Thus, I am satisfied that the proposal accords with the development plan as a whole.”
