Sefton Metropolitan Borough Council last week published its COVID19 planning response detailing steps taken to encourage economic recovery and respond to developers’ needs. Sefton’s pro-active approach has already received praise, with the ‘Have We Got Planning News for You’ webcast naming Sefton ‘Champion of the Week’ for the Council’s positive approach to tackling COVID19-related planning challenges.
Anthony Gill assisted Sefton in the preparation of their COVID19 response. He advised senior officers on the drafting of measures which complement central government’s legislative amendments to promote development in unprecedented times. Anthony has worked closely with Sefton Council on planning policy, development applications, and enforcement ever since he acted as counsel to the Sefton Local Plan, successfully adopted by the Council in April 2017.
Anthony Gill said, ‘I was delighted to help my colleagues at Sefton with this initiative. This “can do” attitude is the approach I’ve come to expect during my years working with this council’.
