Members and staff of Kings Chambers have become the latest organisation to support Manchester-based charity Wood Street Mission with their Easter Book Appeal, providing them with some 2,000 books for children from ages 0-16.

Wood Street Mission, which supports low-income families in Manchester and Salford, chose to swap Easter Eggs for books this year as they are striving to increase the work they do with children via their literacy campaigns. Their school holiday Book Clubs aim to inspire a love of reading and encourage families to read together. The children then get to choose a selection of books from all those donated.

Kings Chambers has supported Wood Street Mission for more than six years, and most recently, was delighted to be able to provide £4,000 in Christmas gifts for the charity’s Christmas appeal.

Debra Andres, Director of Chambers, said: “It is our pleasure to continue to support Wood Street Mission.  We always get such a strong response from members and staff when we let them know of the latest appeal and I’m so pleased to see that this has been no exception.”
