A trio of barristers from Kings Sport are representing the parties at a hearing into the disputed transfer of former Bolton Wanderers footballer, Gavin McCann.
The case centres on the allegations of football agent Anthony McGill against BWFC, the sports agency Sports Entertainment Media Group and a number of other respondents. Mr McGill is represented by Martin Budworth with the defendants (see below) represented by Lisa Walmisley and Neil Berragan.
Mr McGill is claiming that he is owed in excess of £350,000 representing his fee following the player’s transfer from Aston Villa to BWFC in 2007.
The claimant alleges, amongst other things, a conspiracy between the Agency (D1) and its employees and the Club and its employees (D5-9) to defraud him. The Claims are all strenuously denied.
The trial is listed for 7 days and should conclude on 17 April, although written submissions are likely to be ordered with judgment from His Honour Judge Waksman QC reserved.
