Kings Chambers Supports Local Children’s Swim Squad
12th September 2013
As part of it’s commitment to assist community projects, Kings Chambers was delighted to be able to come to the aid of the Bolton Metro Swim Squad and make a contrubution towards the cost of it’s first pre – season swim-camp to Calella, Spain. In order to minimise the cost to swimmers and parents the Squad embarked on various fundraising initiatives (including a bag-pack at a local Supermarket and winning the Asda Supermarket Competition for Fundraising) and raising sponsorship and seeking support from businesses and organisations. Kings Chambers joined with the Bolton Provincial Insurance Trust and the Kevin Davies’ “Kids of Bolton” Fund in providing contributions. The contribution provided by Kings Chambers was put towards the cost of the t-shirts which were worn (complete with the Kings Chambers logo) on the camp with the group looking very smart as they travelled to and from the Camp. The following statement was made by the squad:
“A group of swimmers from the Squad’s AGD (Age Group Development) and JOP (Junior Olmpic Programme) Groups, aged from 11 to 15 accompanied by by 2 coaches and 3 volunteer parents as Team Managers, travelled out to Spain on 27th August this year to the 10x50m pool and training facilitiy at Calella, Spain. During the 5 days the Group were there, the swimmers completed 18 hours of technique and conditioning training, 5 hours gym work and 4 hours general conditioning work. They also managed to have great fun outside of training and their behaviour and commitment were exemplary. It was the perfect start to the season and the swimmers and coaches hope that this commitment will be rewarded with success in the coming year at County, Regional and National Level. All of those involved in the camp acknowledge and thank our sponsors for their generous support. The swimmers will be writing to them all to thank them.”
