Throughout December, Kings Chambers have been collecting donations of food, toys and cash for the Wood Street Mission Christmas Appeal, from members, staff and clerks. Chief clerks donned their Christmas jumpers in a final fundraising finale.

The Wood Street Mission aims to alleviate the effects of poverty on local children and their families through practical help all year round. At Christmas, the charity gives children a gift to open on Christmas morning along with a hamper of food for families.

Colin Griffin, chief clerk at Kings Chambers said: “We’re proud of all our members and our staff who are enabling vulnerable local families to enjoy Christmas a little more this year. The work undertaken by Wood Street Mission is incredible and we’re delighted to support it this year.”

Roseanne Sweeney chief executive of Wood Street Mission said: “Christmas is a difficult time of year for struggling families and this generosity from Kings Chambers goes some way to supporting us in giving out toys and food to about 2,000 families and 4,500 children in the coming weeks.”
