As it has done since 2004, Kings Chambers hosted a group of aspiring barristers at its Mini Pupillage Programme this month. The last two events had to be conducted remotely. Happily, we were back “IRL” this year.
As well as hearing from our barristers and clerks about life at the Bar at Kings, our mini pupils were addressed by Nicola Marchant of Pannone Corporate from the solicitors’ perspective and His Honour Judge Nigel Bird, Manchester’s Designated Civil Judge in an inspiring session on the skills and qualities required of an advocate.
Property barrister Matthew Hall who, along with planning clerk Mark Ronson and front of house manager Gwen Tripcony, organised the event said “It was great to be back in person. The quality of applicants this year was astonishingly good. The 26 who were chosen really got into the spirit of it and I hope they will apply for pupillage here”.
