Kings Chambers Community Initiative 2025 Christmas Charity Appeal 

Kings Chambers is proud to continue with our tradition of supporting the local communities in which we are based.  At this time of year and in lieu of sending Christmas cards, members and staff come together to support our chosen charities.

We are in our 13^th year of supporting the Wood Street Mission’s Christmas Appeal, helping to ensure that children and their families across Greater Manchester who are struggling to make ends meet receive toys, gifts and treats for Christmas.

Christmas is an especially difficult time of year for families affected by poverty and the Wood Street Mission aims to ease the strain for struggling parents by ensuring that no child goes without by providing new toys and treats for every child.  10 of our barristers and members of staff are volunteering at the Wood Street Mission between now and the end of their campaign.

The Leeds Children’s Charity at Lineham Farm is dedicated to brightening children’s lives by providing unforgettable breaks and valuable learning experiences, working with the most disadvantaged children in the city.  For their Christmas campaign they collect gifts to support struggling families and distribute them to the schools, local charities, community groups, and social services who they work with.

The Booth Centre​, a community centre run with people affected by homelessness, providing a warm welcome and an opportunity to gain a purpose and rebuild their lives.  Their programme includes activities such as volunteering, creative projects and sports, as well as training and help to gain employment. They also support people to improve health and wellbeing, to access emergency accommodation, and to secure and maintain a permanent home. The Centre is run in partnership with the people who attend, and they apply their skills and experience to influence strategic change.  

The Christmas Appeal remains an important part of Chambers’ commitment to supporting those in need in our local communities. With thanks to the kind generosity of all involved, this appeal will have a meaningful impact on our partner charities.
