Kings Chambers has signed up to the Equal Representation in Arbitration (ERA) Pledge, reinforcing its commitment to addressing the under-representation of women in arbitration.
Launched in May 2016, the ERA Pledge is a global initiative aimed at improving the profile and representation of women in arbitration, ensuring they have equal opportunities to be appointed as arbitrators. It was established by a coalition of leading figures in the international arbitration community to promote diversity and fairness in the field. Since its launch, the Pledge has gained over 5,000 signatories worldwide, including law firms, institutions, and individual practitioners.
In 2024, the Pledge launched some practical guidelines to support this goal, endorsed by the Bar Council and aimed at both barrister arbitrators and practice management members of chambers. Click here to view the UK Bar guidelines.
