Planning permission has been granted on appeal for 35 homes on a greenfield site adjacent to the village of Haslington, in Cheshire. Kings planning barrister, John Barrettrepresented Tensi Homes who were the appellant.

Permission was granted despite the proposal being contrary to the development plan. The Inspector rejected the Council’s argument that the site made only a limited contribution to meeting the undersupply of housing in Cheshire East saying that:

“This is an argument which could be advanced time and time again to discount the valuable contribution which the appeal site would make in the face of a significant shortfall in housing land.”
