Andrew was a member at Kings from 1973 until 2004 when he was appointed as a Circuit Judge, later becoming the Honorary Recorder of Manchester in 2008 and then, in 2013 , a High Court Judge in the Queen’s Bench Division. Illness prevented Andrew taking up that appointment until October 2014. He dealt with his illness then, and later, with characteristic energy, humour and resilience. Sadly Andrew passed away last month.
Sir Andrew’s six year old grandson George will run the Greater Manchester Marathon Family Mile on the 8th April in memory of his grandad. All funds raised will go to support Beating Bowel Cancer, in the hopes that it will help others fight the disease.
