Helen Trotter and her fellow lawyers acting pro bono for Jeremy Pemberton were recently awarded “Team of the Year” at the inaugural OneBodyOneFaith Rainbow List celebration of those fighting discrimination in the Church of England.
Helen, who is been led by Sean Jones QC, instructed by Susanna Rynehart and works alongside fellow junior Justin Gau, on a pro bono basis since September 2015 accepted the awarded on behalf of her team, and commented: “I think it is fair say that the lawyers of Team Pemberton feel passionately about this case and about the injustice that has been meted out to Jeremy.” and pledged to continue their work on Canon Pemberton’s behalf, as the case advances to the Court of Appeal.
