We are delighted to announce that Francesca Gardner has been appointed as a District Judge on the North Eastern Circuit, splitting her time between Sheffield and Barnsley.
Francesca’s appointment will take effect on 14th October 2024, and she will be known as District Judge Gardner.
Francesca was called to the Bar in 2004 and undertook her pupillage with the late Harold Halliday and Mr Justice Poole. She was appointed as a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, assigned to the Health, Education and Social Care Chamber, in 2020 and as a Deputy District Judge in 2022.
During her time at Kings Chambers, Francesca was heavily involved in our recruitment processes, served as our Race Ambassador, and oversaw mentoring schemes such as 10KBI and the Bar Council’s Bar Placement Scheme on our behalf.
