On 4 May 2017, Fiona Ashworth addressed the British Pain Society’s 50th annual conference in Birmingham. She lectured on the issue of whether treatment should be offered to chronic pain sufferers during the course of litigation. She covered the Rehabilitation Code and how it dovetails with the recommendations of the British Pain Society as to Pain Management Programmes. She spoke to an audience of pain practitioners, explaining how the Rehabilitation Code makes provision for treatment during litigation and that that there is an obligation to consider it. She also explained the process of interims payment applications to fund treatment.
