Join Andrew Singer KC, Jonathan Ward, Oliver McEntee, and Chelsea Carter as they explore the implications of a long-anticipated judgment from the Supreme Court, which has now had its say on major construction law issues arising in modern building and engineering disputes. The speeches range over matters such as pure economic loss, remoteness of damage, the date of accrual of causes of action, limitation, contribution claims, the Defective Premises Act 1972, and the Building Safety Act 2022. Knowledge of the Supreme Court’s treatment of these matters will be essential for anyone practising in the field. The Kings Chambers construction team will be addressing the four main questions which determined the outcome of the appeal, and giving their views on where this seminal judgment leaves construction litigation in 2025 and beyond.
