Constanze Bell will present her paper “Sustainable Development in English Planning Policy: a Lawyer’s Perspective” at the International Conference on Sustainable Development and Planning, held at the University of Siena, Italy, this Thursday. The Conference is supported by the International Journal of Sustainable Development and Planning and WIT Transactions on Ecology and the Environment.

Constanze has been awarded a grant from the International Professional and Legal Development Grant Programme towards the costs of attending and presenting at the conference. Grant Programme funding is generously provided by the Northern Circuit and the Bar Council Scholarships Trusts.

When published the paper will be made available via the Kings Chambers Resources & Training webpage and WIT Transactions and Journal Papers e-library.

Constanze will be revisiting the ideas in her paper at the Lawyers in Local Government Planning Law Conference in Durham on Monday 10 September.

On Wednesday 12 September Constanze will be exploring policy interpretation (including sustainable development and the presumption in favour of sustainable development) with reference to the new NPPF at a breakfast seminar in association with Women in Property. There are some places still available for this talk. For further details and to book a place, please click here.
