Ben recently appeared before Councillors in Preston in a lengthy hearing concerning the renewal of a Sexual Entertainment Venue (SEV) Licence in the city. There was strong opposition from the Police and the Council’s own licensing authority such that the hearing lasted until nearly 8pm in the evening notwithstanding a 2pm start. Ultimately the Committee was persuaded to grant the licence subject to some improved conditions. Such matters can often be complicated and generate a strength of feeling amongst responsible authorities and members of the public. If you would like to discuss any similar applications, please feel free to speak directly with Jake Brooke.

Ben was instructed by Gill Sherratt of Napthens solicitors, Preston. The Council’s committee was legally advised by Elana Kaymer here in Chambers.
