Millie accepts instructions across Planning, Licensing, Highways, and Local Government law.

Millie advises and represents clients from both the public and private sectors. She has advised on and appeared in public inquiries and hearings, enforcement appeals, injunctions, and local authority prosecutions.

Millie successfully completed her twelve-month pupillage at Kings under the supervision of Philip Robson and Stephanie Hall. Prior to joining Kings, Millie studied Geography at the University of Cambridge, latterly specialising in urban and political geography.

Expertise

Millie has a particular specialism in Planning law and is quickly building a busy practice. She welcomes instructions from both public and private sector clients.

Millie acts as both sole and junior counsel in public inquiries and hearings, including for planning applications, enforcement notice appeals, and Compulsory Purchase Orders. She also appears on behalf of local authorities in enforcement prosecutions and injunction proceedings.

Successfully obtaining an order for mandatory injunctive relief in the County Court, on behalf of a Local Planning Authority.


Successfully obtaining an order in the County Court for an injunction with both mandatory and prohibitory elements, on behalf of an NGO.


Appearing as sole counsel on behalf of a Local Authority in a Compulsory Purchase Order inquiry, concerning s.17 Housing Act 1985.


Appearing as sole counsel in a series of enforcement notice appeal inquiries and hearings.


Acting as Junior Counsel to Christopher Katkowski CBE KC for the appellant developer at a planning appeal inquiry in respect of a scheme for high-rise residential development.


Acting as junior to Paul Tucker KC for the appellant developer at a planning appeal inquiry concerning a scheme for residential development.


Acting as junior to Philip Robson for the Local Planning Authority at a planning appeal inquiry concerning a proposed solar farm.


Acting as junior to Stephanie Hall for the appellant landowner at a planning appeal inquiry concerning a scheme for residential development.

Millie welcomes instructions in Licensing cases. She regularly acts for local authorities in relation to taxi licence cases, both in the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court.

Millie welcomes instructions in Highways and Rights of Way cases. Most recently, she has appeared as sole counsel on behalf of the Order Making Authority at inquiries and hearings for Definitive Map Modification Orders.
