Lisa is an experienced commercial Barrister having spent over 5 years in the BVI as a Partner within leading law firms and over 18 years at the independent Bar in England and Wales.
Lisa’s practice includes regular instruction in commercial fraud and all company actions including shareholder and commercial contracts disputes. She has extensive experience in insolvency matters and was recommended in both Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 as an expert in her field throughout her successful career.
During her time in the BVI, Lisa continued to concentrate on high value complex commercial matters. She has led the team in a multi handed, multi-billion dollar claim for breach of trust against a firm of professional trustees and directors. She has navigated a complex multi-jurisdictional claim relating to the forgery of share charges, exercise of shareholder rights and cross border disputes on jurisdiction.
Lisa has advised regularly on all aspects of company law including claims to the ownership of shares, exclusion from management and loss of substratum as the basis for the appointment of Liquidators on the just and equitable ground. Leading her team, Lisa was involved in various claims relating to the validity of the appointment of Receivers of Shares, advising on all aspects of the appointment of liquidators -voluntary and by the Court- and the conduct of the liquidation thereafter.
Other insolvency matters have included a complex dispute over the ownership of shares, consideration of a very large claim by the director of the company and pursuing recovery of property in the United Kingdom.
Continuing her experience at the independent Bar, Lisa has regularly made applications for injunctions including applications for Norwich Pharmacal Orders.
Lisa has considerable experience of managing multi jurisdiction proceedings and was most notably involved in pursuing the recovery of crypto assets fraudulently diverted from a company and from one of the founder members of the company. This included appearing in the Court of Appeal.
Renova Holding Limited v Emmerson International Corporation
Represented ABC Grandeservus, a Cypriot Corporate Services provider and various Cypriot companies in two of the various actions between Renova and Emmerson. Claims included personal claims against the Companies and their Directors for breach of trust and breach of fiduciary duty. The Claims being made were approximately $4billion

Advised the Claimants in a multijurisdictional dispute about ownership of shares. There were concurrent proceedings in Cayman for the appointment of Provisional Liquidators overt Global Cord Blood Corporation which was wholly owned by the4 Claimants. The BVI proceedings including obtaining a short notice injunction [preventing the Defendant from dealing with the shares of the Claimants because the share charge they relied on was forgery. We successfully resisted an application for a cross injunction and obtained summary judgment on the claim.
In Re a Company
Advised shareholder in a BVI company about a claim by the beneficiaries of a deceased former shareholder with regards to a claim to the shares.
In Re a Wife
Made an application on behalf of the wife of a Chinese national for declaration as to the ownership of BVI shares.
Re Dondore Incorporated (In Liquidation)
Represented the Liquidator in a dispute about the validity of the appointment of the liquidators and seeking possession and sale of an apartment in London worth $2.5Million. There was an underlying shareholders dispute relating to the shares of the company. Advising on significant creditors claims in particular by the former Director.
Re Three Arrows Capital Limited
Instructed by the directors to make an application to appoint liquidators; advised the Directors after the Company was placed in liquidation
In Re a Company in Liquidation
Advised BVI provisional liquidators on appropriate steps in Thailand to secure assets, the appropriateness of non-disclosure agreements where litigation was going on , valuation of claims.
