After 42 years at the Bar, Stephen Sauvain QC is announcing his retirement from practice.

Stephen was called to the Bar in 1977 and completed his pupillage with Kings Chambers that year under the guidance of His Honour Harold Singer.

Over the past 42 years Stephen has enjoyed a distinguished and successful career at the Bar and is considered one of the leading planning practitioners in the country, particularly with regard to his work on Highway Law.

Nigel Poole QC, Head of Chambers, commented: “Stephen Sauvain QC has made an exceptional contribution to Kings Chambers and to the law more generally.  He has been a leading silk for 24 years and his contribution to Highway Law is unparalleled.  Kings is proud to have had a barrister of Stephen’s standing amongst its members.  He has been a wise and trusted colleague who will be much missed.  We wish him and Christine a long and happy retirement.”

All of Stephen’s friends and colleagues at Kings would like to take the opportunity to wish him and his wife Christine a long and happy retirement.
