Kings Chambers were delighted to host two students in Leeds Chambers this month, as part of the Bar Council initiative ‘Bar Placement Week’.

The scheme offers high achieving students from low income backgrounds the chance to experience life at the Bar, when they would not normally get the opportunity.

The students were exposed to all aspects of life at the bar, including court visits, conferences, and an insight in the clerks room. The students will be able to include this experience on university application forms, and future pupillage application forms.

Senior Leeds Clerk, Rory Davis commented: “The Bar Placement Week is an excellent opportunity for students to gain new skills and learn first-hand what it takes to become a barrister. Kings Chambers is proud of its links with the local community here in Leeds and we hope the students found the week interesting and informative”
