Ruth practises in the fields of personal injury and clinical negligence, acting for both Claimants and Defendants.

She has wide-ranging experience of personal injury law, including road traffic accidents, employers’ liability, occupiers’ liability and public liability. She frequently appears in claims within the MOJ Portal and in interim applications, often concerning multi-track cases and regularly conducts fast track trials. She is accustomed to advising in relation to liability, quantum and procedure and to drafting statements of case.

Ruth has particular experience in advising in relation to claims arising from negligent beauty treatments, including cases concerning hairdressing procedures and laser hair removal. She also has experience of fatal accident claims and of appearing on behalf of families at inquests.

Ruth is also a member of Chambers’ pain team and is keen to accept instructions in this area.

In the field of clinical negligence, Ruth has advised on cases concerning surgical, pharmaceutical and dental negligence as well as misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis and inappropriate treatment. She has advised in relation to both liability and quantum and drafted statements of case. She also has experience representing families at at clinical-negligence based inquests and at pre-inquest review.

Expertise

Ruth deals with all aspects of clinical negligence and is happy to act for both Claimants and Defendants. She is accustomed to giving advice in conference with experts and to providing written advice in relation to liability and quantum.

Ruth has appeared at a number of inquests and also at pre-inquest review. She has dealt mainly with deaths arising from road traffic accidents and from possible clinical negligence and has usually been instructed on behalf of the family.

Ruth is a member of Chambers’ pain team and is keen to expand this area of her practice.

Ruth’s serious injury practise is split between Claimant and Defendant work and covers all areas of the discipline, including road traffic accidents, employers’ liability, occupiers’ liability and public liability. She is accustomed to dealing with all types of hearings, including interim applications, CCMCs, trials and hearings within the MOJ portal. She also regularly conducts conferences and provides written advice on liability and quantum and drafts pleadings.
