Pupillage Applications

Recruitment for all pupils of Kings Chambers is carried out via the Bar Council Pupillage Gateway scheme. Full details of our vacancies and awards are published on the Pupillage Gateway website.

The published timetable on the Gateway is;

  • 3rd January 2024, 12.01am: Applications open
  • 7th February 2024, 11.59pm: Applications close
  • 10th May 2024, 9.30am: Offers made
  • 17th May 2024, 9.30am: Deadline for accepting initial offers

We expect to conduct interviews on the following dates:

1st Round Interviews –           Thursday 14th and Friday 15th March
2nd Round Interviews –           Thursday 18th and Friday 19th April

We are offering the following specialist pupillages

  • Business & Property Pupillage commencing September 2024
  • Business & Property Pupillage commencing September 2025
  • Costs & Litigation Funding Pupillage commencing either September 2024 or 2025
  • Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence Pupillage commencing September 2025

Our recruitment process and the remuneration package we offer are intended to ensure that we attract the best pupils in each year. We are wholeheartedly committed to the Bar Council’s Equality and Diversity Code.

Our pupillage package for those commencing Pupillage in 2025 totals £70,000. We provide an award of £45,000 in the first six months of pupillage and guarantee our pupil’s earnings in the second six months up to £25,000. Up to £25,000 of this award is available to draw down in the BPTC year upon receipt of the signed pupillage contract and accompanying paperwork. Chambers is committed to selecting the best candidates irrespective of their personal circumstances.  We do not accept unfunded pupils.
