Alison’s most recent work includes:
- acting for M-Sport Limited with respect to their proposals for a multi-million expansion of their existing research, development and manufacturing facility for world rally cars in Cumbria;
- successfully pursuing a section 288 challenge in respect of a planning permission granted on appeal for a 13MW solar farm; the case involved the question of the proper application and interpretation of the national planning guidance on Agricultural Land Classification and the sequential test;
- acting for developers in two separate enforcement cases, securing the quashing of enforcement notices in each instance.

Alison practices almost exclusively in the fields of Planning and Environment Law. Prior to being called to the bar, Alison was a Director at Walker Morris LLP, specialising as a solicitor advocate in planning and environmental cases since 2007.
Alison has extensive experience of a variety of development projects, including housing, waste, retail, minerals, and enforcement matters. Alison has represented developers, local authorities and third parties at planning inquires, hearings, and examinations in public.
She deals with wide range of environment and regulatory matters, including enforcement notice prosecutions, prosecutions relating to waste and environmental permit offences, statutory nuisance, listed building prosecutions and protected species licensing matters.
Alison has advised a broad spectrum of businesses on environmental and regulatory matters, including the leisure industry, civil engineering, manufacturing and the waste industry.
Alison has experience of advising on Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects, and acted for FCC Environment in the first NSIP to reach examination. Alison has acted as a Parliamentary Agent, successfully petitioning Parliament on behalf of FCC Environment, and appearing before the Joint Committee.
Alison has particular expertise in wildlife and biodiversity matters and dealt with the first case to obtain Secretary of State approval for the use of biodiversity offsetting (to mitigate development impacts on wildlife).
