Sarah practises in all areas of Town and Country Planning, including housing, employment, renewable energy, heritage, highways, enforcement and advertising. She also has experience of promoting and opposing compulsory purchase orders. Sarah has advisory experience in all of these areas, and regularly appears in planning inquiries, enforcement inquiries, compulsory purchase inquiries, enforcement prosecutions and advertising prosecutions.

Sarah also has experience in environmental law, including advising and appearing in the High Court and Court of Appeal in relation to Environmental Impact Assessment issues.

Sarah practices in the field of Highways Law, including advisory work and appearances at public path and definitive map modification order inquiries.

Sarah regularly appears in licensing appeals, and has particular experience in appeals relating to premises licences.

Sarah has represented the Ethical Standards Officer for the Standards Board for England and Wales at a number of Adjudication Panel hearings.

Sarah has experience in appearing in statutory challenges and Judicial Review proceedings in the High Court and Court of Appeal.

Planning Magazine ranks Sarah as one of the best planning barristers under the age of 35.

Significant work includes:

Promoting a wind farm, Fewcott, Oxfordshire (Junior Counsel to Paul Tucker QC).

Representing North Yorkshire County Council in their opposition to a scheme involving arguments on Enabling Development and the impact of Minerals Development on a group of significant heritage assets.

Successfully representing the lead objector in a Compulsory Purchase Order inquiry relating to the acquisition of land for the comprehensive regeneration of the Benwell Scotswood area of Newcastle.

Successfully representing the lead objector in a called in inquiry into a scheme for the comprehensive regeneration of the New Brighton waterfront, Wirral.

Representing Stoke On Trent City Council in a called in inquiry for a new Wedgwood Hotel, Stoke on Trent.

Successfully representing Kirklees Council in a called in inquiry for a retirement village in the Green Belt.

Representing West Lancashire District Council in an inquiry into Enabling Development to restore the first Catholic Seminary built in England since the Reformation

Successfully representing Sheffield City Council in their opposition to a large housing scheme in Taptonville Conservation Area, Sheffield.

Representing Wirral BC in a licencisng appeal into Thors Rock Music Festival, Wirral.
